I don't care what nobody says, we're gonna have a baby
[The first time a comment about pregnancy had dropped, Crocodile had nearly dropped too. He was calm and firm as a rule, invisible walls that rivaled the strength of his sands had carefully hidden reactions over the years, and nothing shook him. Nothing. Save for apparently his absolutely psychotic murderous lover casually suggesting that it was time to start a family. He'd taken it as a tasteless joke, gritted his teeth, and made a comment suggesting to Doffy that if he wanted brats he could just steal some. And he'd assumed that was that.
Two weeks later, Doflamingo had brought it up again, poolside in the sun while Crocodile drank a glass of wine. And Crocodile had sprayed said wine all over a staff member who was walking past. Because fucking Doffy had said that he'd look good pregnant, that they should start on their first baby soon. First. Fuck. Like there'd be more than one on the damn itinerary.
The joke was going too far when he caught Doflamingo staring at a calendar a month later with that same look he had when he was working on a particularly important project, the bastard knew more about his ovulation at this point than he did. And Crocodile was getting worn out about this. As far as he knew, Doflamingo hadn't ever had any interest in children, and to Crocodile this was surreal.
This was getting ridiculous. It was a constantly brought up conversation, and exhausting. It felt like it was at his expense, as if just having the right equipment was enough reason to bring this up to torment him with. But then again, Doffy didn't seem like someone who'd do that. It wasn't his calling card to mock something that way, teasing was one thing, but if he wanted someone to stay around he usually at least faked some sort of niceness. Honey and vinegar and all that, he'd seen it with powerful underling after powerful underling to groom in loyalty.
This felt... like it might not be a joke. And it scared him a little. And the requests kept coming, and he kept finding ways to shake the conversation off without saying no directly. And he wasn't even sure why he wasn't putting his foot down at this point. Besides maybe some idiotic part of him was starting to get caught up in this. And finally, it had been enough, and too much, and he had to actually face this.]
"You're serious, aren't you?"
